57 young youth and seven trainers participated in the G-Djeaye MAGIS 2018 summer camp in Atakpamé 160 kilometers away from Lomé, at Our Lady of Africa College. The young youth aged between 12 and 21 years divided into cadets (12 to 15 years) and juniors (16 to 21) are vulnerable youth living with or affected by the HIV and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STIs). Participants were informed on values such as time management and hygiene. “I am happy because I have learnt about who I am and how to relate with my friends” said one participant.

The summer camp also created a learning platform where participants learned about human personality, self-esteem, self- awareness and self-acceptance through immersion of dynamic animation modules that were both educative and entertaining. Participants engaged trainers by asking questions and sharing their experiences about relationships. This session created an opportunity for participants to express their emotional difficulties, get counseled and be empowered psychologically and spiritually.

The ten day MAGIS summer camp ended with a visit to Marian Shrine of Ayome; 50 km of Atakpamé and a cultural evening where participants demonstrated their artistic talents.
