Chaque ann\u00e9e, 1,3 million de personnes suppl\u00e9mentaires sont nouvellement diagnostiqu\u00e9es. L'OMS estime qu'environ 31 millions de personnes dans le monde prennent des m\u00e9dicaments antir\u00e9troviraux pour pr\u00e9venir la transmission du virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un nouveau m\u00e9dicament approuv\u00e9 pour pr\u00e9venir l\u2019infection par le VIH, qui peut \u00eatre inject\u00e9 deux fois par an, est salu\u00e9 comme une avanc\u00e9e dans la lutte contre le VIH et le sida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voici ce que ce nouveau m\u00e9dicament pourrait signifier pour des millions de personnes dans le monde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le l\u00e9nacapavir est un nouveau m\u00e9dicament de pr\u00e9vention du VIH r\u00e9cemment approuv\u00e9 par la FDA am\u00e9ricaine. Son action est diff\u00e9rente de celle des autres m\u00e9dicaments anti-VIH en ciblant la capside du virus. Cela le rend efficace m\u00eame contre certaines souches du VIH qui ne r\u00e9pondent plus aux autres m\u00e9dicaments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le l\u00e9nacapavir est en phase 3 de d\u00e9veloppement pour la pr\u00e9vention du VIH. Une demande d'autorisation de mise sur le march\u00e9 du l\u00e9nacapavir comme prophylaxie pr\u00e9-exposition au VIH (PrEP) a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9pos\u00e9e aupr\u00e8s de la Food and Drug Administration (FDA) des \u00c9tats-Unis en d\u00e9cembre 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour la pr\u00e9vention du VIH, le l\u00e9nacapavir est un m\u00e9dicament antir\u00e9troviral administr\u00e9 par injection dans le bras, la cuisse ou l'estomac d'une personne, administr\u00e9 par injection sous-cutan\u00e9e une fois tous les six mois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"670\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/ajan.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/eu8e3kxj_960_0.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17124\" style=\"width:816px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ajan.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/eu8e3kxj_960_0.jpg 670w, https:\/\/ajan.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/eu8e3kxj_960_0-300x193.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ajan.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/eu8e3kxj_960_0-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Si le VIH p\u00e9n\u00e8tre dans l'organisme, le l\u00e9nacapavir est con\u00e7u pour perturber le virus \u00e0 plusieurs stades afin d'entraver sa r\u00e9plication et de rendre la personne malade. Cette protection \u00e0 action prolong\u00e9e en fait une option pratique pour les personnes qui ont des difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 prendre leurs m\u00e9dicaments quotidiennement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dans une \u00e9tude majeure (appel\u00e9e PURPOSE 1) portant sur de jeunes femmes en Afrique du Sud et en Ouganda, celles qui ont re\u00e7u des injections de l\u00e9nacapavir n\u2019ont eu aucune nouvelle infection par le VIH, ce qui le rend encore plus efficace que la PrEP orale quotidienne.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Une autre \u00e9tude de grande envergure (OBJECTIF 2) dans les Am\u00e9riques est toujours en cours, mais les premiers r\u00e9sultats sont prometteurs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comme tous les m\u00e9dicaments, le l\u00e9nacapavir peut provoquer des effets secondaires. Les plus fr\u00e9quents sont une douleur ou un gonflement au point d'injection, ainsi que des naus\u00e9es ou des maux de t\u00eate. Ces effets sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement l\u00e9gers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les m\u00e9decins doivent \u00eatre vigilants quant aux interactions m\u00e9dicamenteuses. Le l\u00e9nacapavir ne doit pas \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 avec certains m\u00e9dicaments comme la rifampicine, car ils r\u00e9duisent son efficacit\u00e9. De plus, il reste dans l'organisme pendant plusieurs mois\u00a0; le passage \u00e0 un autre traitement anti-VIH doit donc \u00eatre effectu\u00e9 avec prudence afin d'\u00e9viter toute r\u00e9sistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Globalement, le l\u00e9nacapavir offre une nouvelle option efficace pour pr\u00e9venir l'infection par le VIH. Bien que la prophylaxie pr\u00e9-exposition (PrEP) soit disponible depuis des ann\u00e9es, l'\u00e9mergence du l\u00e9nacapavir offre un moyen plus simple et plus durable de pr\u00e9venir l'infection par le VIH, en particulier pour les personnes souhaitant des doses r\u00e9duites et une protection durable.
