C\u2019est une journ\u00e9e au cours de laquelle le monde c\u00e9l\u00e8bre plus de 1,2 milliard de jeunes, non pas comme de simples statistiques, mais comme des membres actifs de la communaut\u00e9 qui, ensemble, constituent une v\u00e9ritable richesse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\"><strong>International Youth Day 2026<\/strong>, c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9e sous le th\u00e8me des Nations Unies <strong>\u00ab Different Contexts, Common Aspirations \u00bb<\/strong>, illustre \u00e0 juste titre la mani\u00e8re dont la diversit\u00e9 des contextes pr\u00e9sente aux jeunes \u00e0 la fois des d\u00e9fis et des opportunit\u00e9s. Ces d\u00e9fis sont fa\u00e7onn\u00e9s par leurs environnements sociaux, technologiques, culturels, \u00e9conomiques et g\u00e9ographiques et comprennent l\u2019acc\u00e8s limit\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9ducation, le ch\u00f4mage, le changement climatique, l\u2019inclusion num\u00e9rique, l\u2019insuffisance des syst\u00e8mes de soutien social, l\u2019essor de l\u2019intelligence artificielle, l\u2019instabilit\u00e9 et les pr\u00e9occupations li\u00e9es au bien-\u00eatre mental, entre autres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pourtant, malgr\u00e9 ces diff\u00e9rences, les jeunes partagent des aspirations communes : vivre dans la dignit\u00e9 et avoir acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des opportunit\u00e9s porteuses de sens. Ces aspirations les motivent \u00e0 agir avec une vitalit\u00e9, une cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 et une r\u00e9silience remarquables. Les jeunes imaginent, cr\u00e9ent, questionnent et conduisent le changement dans leurs communaut\u00e9s, d\u00e9montrant que, m\u00eame si leurs contextes diff\u00e8rent, leurs espoirs d\u2019un avenir meilleur restent profond\u00e9ment li\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">En Afrique en particulier, la croissance de la population jeune repr\u00e9sente un formidable potentiel de transformation sociale et \u00e9conomique pour les jeunes et pour l\u2019ensemble de la communaut\u00e9 africaine. Cependant, divers d\u00e9fis interconnect\u00e9s, tels que l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 une \u00e9ducation de qualit\u00e9, aux soins de sant\u00e9, \u00e0 des possibilit\u00e9s d\u2019emploi d\u00e9centes, \u00e0 des comp\u00e9tences pertinentes, entre autres, restent des obstacles \u00e0 la construction de syst\u00e8mes durables. Dans ce contexte particulier, nous entendons les jeunes nous demander de <em>les<\/em> <strong><em>\u00e9couter profond\u00e9ment, de leur faire confiance en leur donnant acc\u00e8s aux ressources et de cr\u00e9er des structures qui permettent \u00e0 leur \u00e9nergie et \u00e0 leurs talents de produire un changement durable.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Alors que le monde c\u00e9l\u00e8bre cette journ\u00e9e, l\u2019<strong>African Jesuit AIDS Network (AJAN)<\/strong> se joint \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 mondiale pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer les jeunes et r\u00e9affirmer son engagement \u00e0 cheminer \u00e0 leurs c\u00f4t\u00e9s en tant que partenaires, innovateurs et leaders du changement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"736\" height=\"736\" src=\"https:\/\/ajan.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/International-Youth-DAY-2026.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20793\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ajan.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/International-Youth-DAY-2026.jpg 736w, https:\/\/ajan.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/International-Youth-DAY-2026-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ajan.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/International-Youth-DAY-2026-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/ajan.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/International-Youth-DAY-2026-12x12.jpg 12w, https:\/\/ajan.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/International-Youth-DAY-2026-189x189.jpg 189w, https:\/\/ajan.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/International-Youth-DAY-2026-85x85.jpg 85w, https:\/\/ajan.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/International-Youth-DAY-2026-650x650.jpg 650w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 736px) 100vw, 736px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En r\u00e9pondant aux aspirations des jeunes, je souhaite souligner deux points importants ;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.<strong>Appel\u00e9s \u00e0 \u00e9couter<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Que nous disent les jeunes ?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Ils sont <strong>courageux, cr\u00e9atifs et dot\u00e9s d\u2019immenses talents<\/strong>, avec le potentiel de conduire des changements significatifs lorsqu\u2019ils b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient du mentorat et de l\u2019accompagnement appropri\u00e9s.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Ils veulent \u00eatre <strong>\u00e9cout\u00e9s, consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme dignes de confiance, soutenus et avoir acc\u00e8s \u00e0 de v\u00e9ritables ressources et opportunit\u00e9s<\/strong> qui leur permettent de s\u2019\u00e9panouir.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Ils comprennent souvent mieux que nombre de leurs dirigeants et institutions le <strong>monde num\u00e9rique qui fa\u00e7onne leur vie<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Ils sont pr\u00eats non seulement \u00e0 apprendre et \u00e0 progresser, mais aussi \u00e0 <strong>partager leurs comp\u00e9tences num\u00e9riques, leurs connaissances et leurs exp\u00e9riences<\/strong> avec les autres.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>La cr\u00e9ation d\u2019emplois et les possibilit\u00e9s d\u2019emploi correspondant \u00e0 leur \u00e9ducation, leur formation et leurs comp\u00e9tences<\/strong> restent parmi leurs principales priorit\u00e9s.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Les jeunes sont un <strong>atout pr\u00e9cieux<\/strong> : ils apportent de l\u2019\u00e9nergie, de la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9, de l\u2019innovation et des perspectives nouvelles. En tant que l\u2019un des groupes d\u00e9mographiques les plus importants et \u00e0 la croissance la plus rapide, leur potentiel peut \u00eatre mobilis\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re transformatrice au b\u00e9n\u00e9fice des communaut\u00e9s et des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les jeunes n\u2019attendent pas d\u2019\u00eatre sauv\u00e9s. Ils sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 actifs ; ils ont conscience d\u2019eux-m\u00eames, r\u00eavent et construisent malgr\u00e9 les obstacles extraordinaires auxquels ils sont confront\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ils s\u2019organisent, d\u00e9veloppent des solutions, d\u00e9fendent les int\u00e9r\u00eats de leurs communaut\u00e9s, font du b\u00e9n\u00e9volat et r\u00e9pondent aux d\u00e9fis qui les entourent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Ils nous invitent \u00e0 cheminer avec eux pour co-cr\u00e9er un monde meilleur o\u00f9 ils peuvent s\u2019\u00e9panouir.<\/em><\/strong><strong><em><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">AJAN comprend que <strong>\u00e9couter les jeunes ne signifie pas simplement parler d\u2019eux<\/strong>. En effet, notre <strong>troisi\u00e8me Pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence apostolique universelle, <em>\u00ab accompagner les jeunes dans la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019un avenir porteur d\u2019esp\u00e9rance \u00bb<\/em>, affirme que cheminer avec les jeunes et les \u00e9couter<\/strong> est un engagement qui va au-del\u00e0 des programmes con\u00e7us <em>pour<\/em> <em>les jeunes<\/em>. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019un effort intentionnel visant \u00e0 cr\u00e9er des espaces o\u00f9 les jeunes reconnaissent leurs forces, participent de mani\u00e8re significative, partagent leurs exp\u00e9riences v\u00e9cues et contribuent \u00e0 fa\u00e7onner les r\u00e9ponses qui influencent les bonnes d\u00e9cisions, afin de cr\u00e9er des voies leur permettant de devenir des acteurs d\u2019une transformation positive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Le travail d\u2019AJAN s\u2019est toujours efforc\u00e9 de contribuer \u00e0 cette transformation en aidant les jeunes \u00e0 passer de la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 \u00e0 une plus grande autonomie, \u00e0 un leadership responsable et \u00e0 une participation significative au sein de leurs communaut\u00e9s (pour en savoir plus sur <strong>Jesuit Youth Social Entrepreneurship Action-JYSEA et AJAN HIV and AIDS Prevention Programme for the Youth (AHAPPY)<\/strong>). Nous croyons qu\u2019avec le mentorat n\u00e9cessaire, la disposition, les ressources, les comp\u00e9tences et un d\u00e9veloppement int\u00e9gral, les jeunes ont la capacit\u00e9 de transformer les d\u00e9fis de leur environnement en opportunit\u00e9s d\u2019innovation et en solutions durables, devenant ainsi des catalyseurs des changements qu\u2019ils souhaitent apporter dans leurs communaut\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. <strong>Un appel au courage<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Les jeunes sont appel\u00e9s \u00e0 se consid\u00e9rer non pas comme des victimes, mais comme des acteurs et des architectes des solutions dont le monde a d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9ment besoin. Ils sont appel\u00e9s \u00e0 s\u2019\u00e9lever au-dessus du d\u00e9sespoir qui peut sembler les submerger. Le pape L\u00e9on XIV, lors de sa participation \u00e0 la <strong>2026 Franciscan Youth Meeting<\/strong>, a rappel\u00e9 aux jeunes que \u00ab <em>nous sommes ici pour surmonter la r\u00e9signation et la peur, pour d\u00e9m\u00ealer les doutes qui nous retiennent, tout comme ils retenaient les ap\u00f4tres.<\/em> \u00bb Se souvenant que \u00ab Dieu ne nous a pas donn\u00e9 un esprit de peur, mais de puissance, d\u2019amour et de sagesse \u00bb (2 Timoth\u00e9e 1:7), les jeunes sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 prendre leur place, non pas comme des invit\u00e9s attendant une invitation \u00e0 s\u2019approcher de la table, mais comme des citoyens du monde qui portent \u00e0 la fois une responsabilit\u00e9 et une obligation de rendre compte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">L\u2019acte de tisser un avenir porteur d\u2019esp\u00e9rance, o\u00f9 les aspirations des jeunes comptent, appelle les jeunes \u00e0 \u00eatre attentifs au pr\u00e9sent, \u00e0 l\u2019interpr\u00e9ter, afin que \u00ab <em>nous puissions \u00e9crire de nouvelles pages de l\u2019histoire.<\/em> \u00bb (Pape L\u00e9on XIV, 2026). L\u2019avenir n\u2019est pas quelque chose que nous attendons simplement ; c\u2019est plut\u00f4t quelque chose que nous construisons ensemble<strong>.<\/strong> Voici une invitation \u00e0 regarder au-del\u00e0 des diff\u00e9rences qui s\u00e9parent les jeunes et \u00e0 reconna\u00eetre les espoirs qui les unissent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">En cette Journ\u00e9e internationale de la jeunesse, AJAN c\u00e9l\u00e8bre ces aspirations et les jeunes qui non seulement les portent, mais contribuent activement \u00e0 les concr\u00e9tiser.
