Centre  Monseigneur Munzihirwa (C.M.M.) is AJAN affiliated field centre in the Democratic Republic of Congo that caters for the street children and undertakes vocational training. In a bid to empower the young people, in the month of June 2024 CMM continued with its efforts to cater for the children in street situations, the CMM makes a daily effort to provide an average of 30 children with support and access to basic services (food, environment to listen, protection, medical care, psychological support, playful, recreational, artistic activities, literacy, school catch-up, reconciliation and direct reunification of the street into families). The attendance of children at CMM day care centre increases the number of meals (needs in terms of food, health and cleaning products).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, in order to learn a trade, more than 20 children are reintegrated into their families. Mediation visits and Family Weekends have been strengthened to enable the reintegration of 16 children. The children in the shelter spend a few weekends each week with their families, getting ready for their final reunion.<\/p>\n\n\n

Miss Davina, Miss Jemi and the scholastic Severin Mwanza are all three students of the Catholic University of Congo who spent their humanitarian internship at CMM center. They participated in social surveys, family visits, listening sessions for children and fun activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Carpentry, Fitting, Cutting and Auto-Motorcycle mechanics workshops were supplied with inputs, equipment, machine maintenance and vices for the three months of practice.<\/em>
As far as the vocational training component is concerned, 31 great young people are training with the centre. After finishing the three months of theoretical courses, they devote themselves to practical exercises assiduously. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to UNICEF, children aged 0\u20134 years face the highest risk of AIDS-related deaths, compared with all other age groups. Children living and orphaned by HIV and AIDS face significant challenges and are vulnerable.
