You can now ‘follow’ and pray with Pope Francis anywhere and anytime thanks to ‘Click to Pray’ platform which he launched ahead of the World Youth Day (WYD) 2019, celebrated in Panama City (23rd to 27th January). Available in six languages (Spanish, English, Italian, French, Portuguese, and German), ‘Click to Pray’ Platform which was used as the official prayer platform for World Youth Day 2019, has both a website and a mobile app. The mobile app is available in both Android and iOS. After installing it in your phone, you can now pray with the Pope on his monthly intentions concerning challenges facing humanity.
During the 34th World Youth Day in Panama City, since its establishment in 1984 by Pope St. John Paul II in, Pope Francis called upon youth to pray Rosary for Peace. “Make use often of this powerful instrument which is the prayer of the Holy Rosary, that it may bring peace to your heart, to your family, to the Church and the world” he said. With this year’s event themed “I am the servant of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word (Luke 1:38)”,the Pope urged young people to model the Blessed Virgin Mary and likewise respond to God’s call by sharing with joy, the Gospel to the world.
The last World Youth Day, preceding 2019, had been celebrated in 2016 in Krakow, Poland. Pope Francis announced Lisbon in Portugal as the next city to host World Youth Day 2022.
