ABOUT JYSEA

JYSEA is a program designed by African Jesuit AIDS Network (AJAN) to support young people who are out of school, unemployed, or young
mothers. By addressing skills gaps and mismatches, JYSEA helps these individuals become successful social entrepreneurs.

Through the program AJAN offers financial and non-financial support to facilitate the creation and growth of youth-led social enterprises in
their respective countries.

Visão

To uplift the young people out of school from economic hopelessness to a future filled with hope.

Promoting Innovation

Building resilience in communities, enabling them to tackle there own challenges sustainable, localized solutions.

Goals

Economic Upliftment , Youth Empowerment , Sustainable Development and addressing local needs and contributing to community development.

JYSEA Mandates

Through social entrepreneurship, the Jesuits in Africa are undertaking holistic collective action and demonstrating deep dedication
to transforming lives and building a better tomorrow. Together, we make a lasting impact by striving to fulfill the following mandates.

Mandate 1

The call of the 3rd Jesuit Universal Apostolic Preferences- “To accompany the young people to build a hope-filled future”

Mandate 2

AJAN strategic focus (2021-2025) which puts the youth at the center of all integrated efforts against HIV; interventions and programs.”

Mandate 3

Advance the SGD. 1. No Poverty, 2. Zero Hunger, 3. Good Health & Well being, 4. Gender Equality, etc.
Building Youth Capacity for Social Impact

JYSEA Objectives

To provide personal development and soft skills beyond the standard education based on values and Ignatian
principle.

To actively mentor the youth on social entrepreneurship, build confidence, innovation and offer direction on how to
position themselves through entrepreneurial projects with social impact.

To generate self-employment among aspiring social entrepreneurs by accelerating the development of new social
entrepreneurs and providing practical skills training in entrepreneurship, Product development, and value addition.

To enhance the capacity of the youth to engage in community service that contribute to integral ecology while
Improving institutional AJAN centres capacity to accompany the young people integrally.
