On 23rd October 2025, Saint Joseph Technical Senior School, Kangemi, came alive with an atmosphere of reflection, honesty, and brotherhood as the school held an inspiring Boys’ Forum under the theme “Own Your Story.” The session, facilitated by Br. Martin, brought together all male staff and students for an open and empowering conversation about identity, responsibility, and personal growth.

The forum provided a rare space for the boys to pause and reflect on who they are, who they want to become, and what values guide their journey. Through interactive discussions and guided reflections, participants explored essential aspects of self-identity, discipline, personal hygiene, and self-development, all aimed at helping them take full responsibility for their own stories. Br. Martin encouraged the boys to look within themselves and recognize that every life is a story being written day by day. He reminded them that “owning your story” means embracing both the bright and difficult chapters, celebrating one’s strengths while learning from mistakes. Growth, he said, comes from the courage to be authentic and the humility to keep improving.

Throughout the session, the message was clear: true maturity begins with self-awareness and discipline. The boys were reminded that every decision they make shapes the kind of men they are becoming. Br. Martin emphasized that living with purpose and integrity is not about perfection but about consistency, responsibility, and respect for oneself and others. He invited them to live intentionally — to make choices that reflect their values and to become men who stand for what is right even when no one is watching.
The active presence of all male staff added great depth to the forum. Their participation created a spirit of solidarity and mentorship, allowing the boys to experience the strength that comes from brotherhood and community. Teachers shared their experiences and reflections, offering guidance and encouragement. This interaction bridged the gap between students and mentors, fostering trust and reminding the boys that growth is best achieved in a supportive environment where one can learn, ask questions, and share openly.

For Saint Joseph Technical Senior School, this forum was more than just a discussion, it was a reaffirmation of the school’s mission to shape responsible and value-driven young men. Education here goes beyond academics; it seeks to form the whole person; mind, body, and spirit. By helping the students to own their stories, the school continues to nurture a generation of confident, respectful, and purpose-driven young leaders who are grounded in faith and guided by conscience.
As the session came to an end, the boys left with a renewed sense of confidence and direction. The day’s reflections echoed a powerful truth, that each young man holds the pen to his destiny. By choosing to take responsibility for his thoughts, actions, and growth, he becomes not just a student, but a leader in the making. The call to “Own Your Story” became a call to live with integrity and courage, reminding everyone present that true leadership begins from within.
