Across the hills and valleys of Africa

Where the sun paints the morning sky,

There rises a whisper of hope,

A voice that teaches us to stand, to dream,

To care for and reach for the light.

From village paths to busy towns

Young hearts are learning every day

That knowledge is a powerful seed

And when planted with love and courage

It can transform our communities.

The African Jesuit AIDS Network

Has opened doors we could not see

Teaching the youth about life and health

About dignity, responsibility and care

And giving us courage to shape tomorrow.

We have learned that silence

Can be broken, that fear can

Be replaced by understanding

And that every life has value.
