Zimbabwe: June-August 2018: Integral Youth Development has organized training and seminars to at least 684 youth in Zimbabwe.
The youth come from various secondary schools across the country. Participants have participated in sensitization programmes and activities covering information on HIV and AIDS, teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. The youth have also undergone life skills seminars which are crucial in empowering the youth to live responsibly.
During these training, the youth have demonstrated improved communication skills, conflict resolution and are more decisive hence able to handle peer pressure. Integral Youth Development continues to create spaces for youth to hold constructive dialogues on HIV and AIDS in Schools to through lobbying and creation of Youth Against AIDS (YAA) Clubs in secondary schools across Zimbabwe.
Through IYD effort, increased numbers of youths are getting informed on transmission and prevention of HIV and AIDS while those infected are encouraged to adhere to Anti-Retroviral Therapy. Teenage pregnancies have drastically reduced in secondary schools which have received regular trainings and seminars on youth and HIV and AIDS.
