On June 26, 2024, Service Yezu Mwiza (SYM) hosted an event to commemorate the Global Day of Action against drug abuse and trafficking. The event’s slogan was “Support Don’t Punish,” with the theme: Together, We Can Build Sustainable Alternatives in Burundi.

This event saw the participation of the Local Consultant of Médecins du Monde, the Representative of ANSS SANTE PLUS, the Representative of ICAP Burundi, Actors from the Police Services (Anti-Drug Police Unit, the Judicial Police and the Criminal Research Brigade) and others… in order to discuss with the Actors Associations involved in the implementation of the TAO pilot project in Burundi.

The event closed by awarding Certificates to the various Associations and Media in recognition of their contribution to the fight against drugs.
