May the light of the Risen Christ spring into us

Mrs ZONGO Félicienne Marie Christine- President of ABE, Burkina Faso.

Today the day of Resurrection, a day of joy, yes Christ is risen. First of those who have fallen asleep, death is swallowed up by life. What teaching can we learn from this great mystery of resurrection?

We must give life, and work to ensure that those living with HIV, the abandoned, the poor, and the marginalized are resurrected, have a new life. ABE through Father Augustin Goytisolo (who passed away on February 9, 2021, May he Rest in Peace) empowered women and men infected with HIV, at a time when the disease was rampant like corona at present, to move on with life. The organization supported victims of stigma, discrimination, those rejected by their families or spouses to regain hope for a better tomorrow.

To give life, to be close to those who suffer, to encourage, to console, to give hope, this is our role as a Catholic Christians. Then we can say that our Easter has been set on fire, that Christ has risen.

Our world today needs the Witnesses of the Risen One. We must be the hands, the feet, the voice of the Risen Christ in order to bring love, and the good news of salvation to all.

May the light and joy of the Risen Christ inhabit us and transform us into a source of living water where the patients of HIV or COVID 19 will quench their thirst.
