WE ALL NEED SOMEBODY

Living in the world today,
we all need somebody to look up to—
a steady hand when skies turn grey,
a voice that says, “I believe in you.”

We all need somebody who inspires us,
someone like Tobechukwu, who inspires Augustine,
or Ujah, who inspires Imuetinyars—
not perfect,
just present through the fight,
someone who finds a tiny spark in us
until we learn to hold our own light.

And we all know
that mentorship need not be formal—
no title, no office, no rigid plans.

It is shared laughter,
hard truths, and coffee.
It is one human lifting another to stand.

So be that somebody, right where you are.
Liberate—don’t domesticate a heart.

Because living in the world today,
we rise by helping others start.
