PLEASURE

No pleasure can be right if it affects a person who indulges in it. Pleasure injures a man’s body; in the end, a permanent illness affects him.

Pleasure can corrupt a man’s moral fiber. Pleasure can lower his resistance against diseases, which is wrong. Any pleasure that leaves a man physically unfit, mentally sluggish, and morally insensitive is wrong.

It is obvious that excessive use of alcohol and the use of illicit drugs can lower a man’s power of self-control, leading to fleeting and negative decisions. Worst of all, they render him to do things which he would not have done if he had been sober, and what is likely to follow is an inevitable liability in a court of law. And he will spend down to his last cent, as the Bible says.

A promiscuous and uncontrolled relationship can leave a man with the most tragic tragedy and diseases that will only mean spending and the extremes of health care. And behold, it may be passed to his children and to his children’s children.

And as for you, pleasure, who comes with addiction: you will never be right. An old Greek said: “Do I possess it, or does it possess me? Do I control it or does it control me?” From now on, whoever indulges is advised to break it before it breaks him.

Thank you very much for listening.
